Loretta, was a Washington, DC native. She was a die-hard Redskins fan who loved spending time with family and friends, crocheting, meeting new people and taking trips to Atlantic City. Loretta will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
This memorial was erected in memory of our Gone But Loved one.
Loretta lived and worked in Washington, DC most of her life, before moving to Charlotte NC. The daughter of a Baptist minister, she accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She held various jobs throughout her life. Being the ‘hostess with the mostess’ she enjoyed meeting, greeting and serving her guests. Even being of age herself (a sassy senior), she enjoyed working for DC Office on Aging assisting seniors. She passed peacefully after suffering a stroke. She was preceded in death by her son Darrell Dwayne Evans (2009) and six of her brothers. Loretta is survived by three daughters, Edna (Bunny) Jacobs, Sharon Mobley, and Denise Davenport. Her legacy includes 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memories siblings, aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
